(I don't know what I was thinking, even back then I hated being on my feet for more than ten or fifteen minutes.)

Then for a few years I wanted to be a race-horse trainer/breeder (my uncle ran a degree program at Louisiana Tech--so at least I was thinking about college).

When I was in tenth or eleventh grade, my uncle's program was cut---there went my college/career plan. Back to square one.

Since I loved my high school civics/history teacher so much, I decided to major in secondary education/social studies. That a semester and a half. I switched to general studies for two weeks midway through semester 2, then I heard about LSU's Creative Writing major.

And then I dropped out of college at age 21 and worked as a communications assistant operator for the deaf for a year, then as a sales assistant/admin/exec assistant in the newspaper advertising industry for quite some time.

I was twenty-nine when I went back to college knowing what I was supposed to do---finish my education and get a full-time job teaching Creative Writing at a community college or small 4-year school.

And we see how well that plan worked out.

Hair dresser, massage therapist, and salesman? But---notice that was "stumbled upon." Because I am in the W category when it comes to size, if I do go to Walmart (I try to avoid it in favor of Target), I don't usually do much more than walk past the clothing section without stopping---because most of what they have is made with a 70+-year-old woman in mind. They need to start marketing to the middle instead of teens/old ladies!Kaye Dacushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04187774900100851982noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442437466036165602.post-64471296363179308902010-08-13T08:04:40.042-05:002010-08-13T08:04:40.042-05:00UGH! So I literally have spent the past month trying to remember passwords I haven't used since April PLUS adding the ridiculous number of personal e-mail accounts I have to my phone and remember all those passwords. On a phone, not only are you challenged with remembering them, you're challenged with making sure you type them right on that tiny keyboard! On top of passwords, you have to remember what account name you used and some banks and that sort of thing won't let you use your standard username, so you have to set up one with NUMBERS in it! I FINALLY got Twitter worked out on my phone...I didn't think I ever would.Stephanie Farishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10461865229341760836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442437466036165602.post-32992540847965380372010-08-10T08:04:13.825-05:002010-08-10T08:04:13.825-05:00I'm on my 4th Blackberry Curve because of vari...I'm on my 4th Blackberry Curve because of various problems. Currently it only works on GSM networks. Doesn't seem like it would be all that hard.

My mom loves her Droid. The only benefit I see to the iPhone is just the fact that it's number one...which means it'll always have the best apps. That's what all the designers are working toward. Not too many people/companies lining up to make apps for the Droid. That could change (and SHOULD change) but it would take the Droid becoming super-popular.

As for locking up...both the Droid and the iPhone have their issues. My iPhone has a flaw in its "proximity sensor" that means the screen doesn't shut off when I'm talking on it. I had to get a Bluetooth because it was driving me crazy. (Apple says it's working on a fix.) My mom had to seek out software for the Droid to keep it from constantly butt-dialing people...now it seems to be okay. I had the Samsung Instinct and it locked up every time I got a voicemail... Whatever you have, it's gonna be a pain at times, but at least with the iPhone, they have to come up with a fix. Otherwise they're all over the news CONSTANTLY!Stephanie Farishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10461865229341760836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442437466036165602.post-30004086569314631892010-07-24T07:52:33.800-05:002010-07-24T07:52:33.800-05:00Put "I Will Survive" on continuous loop ...Put "I Will Survive" on continuous loop and stock up on your favorite vice of choice. I was one of those couples. We never fought and were probably the most stable and seemingly happy of all our friends. Some friends had major dysfunction and survived. Maybe you need that? Maybe having things go too smoothly causes problems? In my case, it was just that we were really good friends and over time, we grew apart. Considering divorce statistics, it's amazing to me so few people I know do get divorced. Most every couple I knew in my 20s is still together. I see divorce so rarely...and I'm not sure why that is! But they say that divorce can be contagious because couples who are already having problems cause others to question their relationships. I think that's true...but it also can be true that someone like you can look at your marriage and realize all the good things about it.Stephanie Farishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10461865229341760836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442437466036165602.post-46310719570214257292010-07-21T21:38:17.725-05:002010-07-21T21:38:17.725-05:00Wow...you're old (he said, ignoring the loomin...Wow...you're old (he said, ignoring the looming birthday on the calendar this January where 3 turns to 4.)Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11061304417023335698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442437466036165602.post-59933535492504283902010-07-20T16:25:12.607-05:002010-07-20T16:25:12.607-05:00Now we just need to get you back to an MTCW meetin...Now we just need to get you back to an MTCW meeting...Jasonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11061304417023335698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1442437466036165602.post-80879495073902474782010-07-18T02:03:27.542-05:002010-07-18T02:03:27.542-05:00I hate to admit this but my daughter, at 12 isn...I hate to admit this but my daughter, at 12 isn't reformed yet.
